Back to the real work !
Well, after a month of hair-tearing leaving us looking like sad bunch of eggheads looking for a part in LOST we can actually get back to acquiring all those lovely prints and posters you come to us for. You wouldn't have thought that setting up a new payment system could be so much hassle but between our software house and the bank it really was a nightmare. Thank god we were finally allowed to wake up to the relative insanity of our normal business :-)

PCI DSS is a pain
We've just completed all the necessary work for PCI DSS compliance and that has been a pain and a half but it means that we now have the latest card processing system in place and this means the best level of security for our customers all over the world so I guess it was worthwhile. When we've got over the headaches and loss of sleep we might begin to appreciate that :-)

A busy wet summer
Well, after the dry spell lancashire has done what it does best - rain, rain and even more rain. Sun isn't so much a natural phenomena up here as miracle worth writing to the Pope about. All over Europe everyone has been complaining about the heat and here we've been under grey skies getting dumped on every day. Mind you, good job really as we've been pretty busy and there's been little time for sitting in the sunshine with an ice-cool beer or six :-) Jay Blakemore has finally got some wondeful A2 size signed prints of his excellent dragons available and hopefully before long Ed Org will have some new goodies to make available to all you avid fans out there. As I look out the window I'm really glad of all the lovely artwork around us here at Artists UK as it definitely beats watching the rain come down in buckets! If you need a nice picture to cheer you up then why not go for trawl around our main website by clicking here.

Frazetta feud
Despite the very sad grand feud going on in Frank Frazetta's family since Ellie Frazetta, his wife, died last year we have managed to stock up some of the lovely old posters of Frank Frazetta's classic artwork. You'll find them here. Latest news is that it appears that the Frazetta siblings have settled out of court so hopefully it is all over and life can get back to normal for them.

Cool Summer but Hot Sale
Well, as usual the sun shined everywhere except in Lancashire over the summer and we did get a bit fed up with reports from all over from friends and relatives lying in the sunshine while we watched the heavens pouring it down. On the other hand, the Artists UK Krazy Summer Sale was roaring awayand lots of old customers we hadn't seen for awhile turned up to grab the bargains. Always nice to have our old customers back again. There were even a few from way back in the MAM days getting on for fifteen years ago!

It is a black bolt!
We watched the animation film 'Bolt' last night. I know it's for kids but the animation work is incredible and a joy to watch. In fact, everything about it is so well done - the plot - characterisation etc etc. I wonder how many people realise where the idea for Bolt's "super bark" came from? I may be wrong but it seems an amazing coincidence that there was this character called 'Black Bolt' in the early Fantastic Four comics, the leader of the Inhumans, whose voice was so devastating that he had to remain silent. If he so much as whispered there was an earthquake. i find it hard to believe that the creators of Bolt had never heard of Black Bolt. Good job Black Bolt is fictional character or he might be pretty peed off at being turned into a dog :-)
